The Colors Of Spring In Juneau

The weather has been quite lovely since I got back. There's been more dry than wet and a fair amount of sunshine. So we took a walk up Montana Creek Road the other day, and I couldn't help but notice that the lupine blooming amidst all that green reflected the colors of my baby sweater.

First Grand Niece/Nephew Baby Sweater

Pattern: EZ's Surplice Baby Jacket from VK Spring/Summer 2007
Yarn: Rowan Pure Wool DK in Avocado (~2 1/4 x50 gram balls) and Navy (~1/3 x50 gram ball)
Needles: US Size 5 Knit Picks Options
Finished Measurements: Approximately 10"x10". I knit to the smaller size, but my gauge didn't match precisely. The joy of baby sweaters, for me, is not worrying about getting an exact size. Sooner or later, this will fit.

This was another clever and fun recipe from EZ. I followed the optional guidelines for longer ribbed cuffs and added contrasting I-cord. I also incorporated the suggestion to purl the "marked" stitches on the wrong side to produce a pronounced knit diagonal.

Love the sweater and the new twist on the pattern. I do hope you are doing well after your trip! Sending positive thoughts.

I am now back in Montana for the summer and your sweater would fit in with my lupine in the front yard!

Love this! I was just looking for bright and gender-neutral colors for a baby knit - I'm going to steal your color themes!

very lovely work! I love when knitters go outside the box( the pastel one, that is!). The recipient's parents will just adore and appreciate your talent and generous heart.

It was nice meeting you (at Article Pract in Oakland). I started my monkey socks in the yarn you helped me pick, and it’s easier then I thought.

I like your blog and look forward to reading it often.

Love the style, love the colours! GREAT job!

I have to knit this and can't find the pattern. I'm in Australia, can't get Vogue magazine, their website is down, ebay listing won't post internationally.
Can anyone help out with the pattern... please... I'm happy to pay.

Miss-Molly-

Send me an email(ky@pobox.com) so I can talk to you! I put out a plea for help on "Ravelry" and someone said the online store "The Knitting Loft" in Victoria has the issue you want.
